I have been a cat–lover my whole life, always having at least two cats in my household. I fell in love with a friend’s Birman in 1985, and one of her kittens, Chereby Benjamin Luke ("Benji") became my much–loved pet for 17 years. When I migrated to Australia from the UK in 1988, Benji came with me, plus my longhair domestic rescue, Sherry.

Choosing ’Shenji’, a combination of my two cats’ names as my prefix, I adopted a blue point Birman female. Her first litter produced a Gold Champion, who was my successful introduction to cat shows. In 1996, I purchased one of the first Norwegian Forest Cat kittens to be born in Australia and continued to import more cats from breeders I visited in Scandinavia. I became the first NFC breeder in Victoria, under the prefix ‘Borealis’, named after the Northern Lights of Norway.

Invited to train as a Group One Judge, I was successful in passing exams in 2004. I have since judged for both GCCFV and FCCV at numerous shows in Victoria, ACT, Tasmania and, in Queensland, QFA and QICC. I also judged internationally in England at Birman, Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cat specialty shows.

I have now retired from Victoria to my home in Mount Hallen, Queensland, bringing 7 of my best Norwegian Forest Cats for an ongoing breeding program.
I have chosen to join QFA and look forward to my time at shows
