My lifelong passion for cats began in childhood with a protective seal point Siamese, followed by a rain–loving Persian, two more Siamese, and an open–door policy for any stray in need. I was first introduced to the brown Burmese in the mid–1980s, and in 1989, my life was changed by Missy—a sassy chocolate Burmese who well and truly owned me.
From Missy’s first litter, I kept a female and later added a cream Burmese to my household. I began showing cats in early 1991 and soon became actively involved in the wider cat fancy, assisting with stewarding courses, vetting–in, paperwork, and club activities. My commitment to the community led to an invitation to begin judges’ training, and I completed my section exam in 1995.
Throughout, I bred on a small scale, briefly including Bengals, before stepping back from both judging and showing for a time. Around 2010, I reintroduced some of my previous lines and resumed showing with renewed enthusiasm. Over the years, I’ve bred ten colours of the Burmese rainbow and introduced a black Mandalay to my program.
Now retired from breeding, I still enjoy showing occasionally. Outside the cat world, I work, spend time with family, and pursue creative hobbies including gardening, sewing, quilting, candle making, and other home–based crafts
